Playa Cerrado

Cabo

Feeling a little sad tonight as I enjoy my last night in Cabo. It has been a wonderful, leisurely week with walks on the playa, cervazas by the pool, siestas, and peace.

“Playa Cerrado” means the beach is closed but it doesn’t have to mean that the wonderful times are coming to a close.  I plan to keep the spirit of my Cabo experience with me.

My Cabo manifesto:

Taking time to enjoy meals. The view in Portland in January can’t compete with sitting on the beach in Cabo, but I can find other beautiful views. There is rosemary growing at the bank a few blocks away. What a wonderful idea to enjoy the fragrance in a simple arrangement with my meals!

Meditating each morning for ten minutes to set the mood for my day. To sit for a moment or two and think about my sons, how much I love them and how proud I am of them. Finally, to spend a couple of minutes with Miss Ginny for some canine therapy.

Slowing down to enjoy my life with all of my joys and the inevitable challenges.

Today is the anniversary of the last day I spent with my husband.  He left me with a simple and yet hard directive for my life…to be happy.

I am so glad I went to Cabo…

  1. Hello Lori,
I so enjoyed your post. Our chance meeting in Temple in Portland has gifted me with being exposed to the positive and loving thoughts on your site. Thank you.

  2. What a beautiful scene and way to celebrate life and honor your husband by seeking happiness. That’s one of the best lessons for daily life – to find beauty, peace and happiness in each day and inspire others to seek that, too. Thank you!! xoxo

    1. Yes, Cabo is wonderful. I especially liked the warmth of the people.
A large part of who I am and how I see/react to the world is because of my husband. I know I am a better person for having known him.
Thanks for reading and for sharing your thoughts.
