“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”  The Golden Rule

“What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others.”  Confucius

“My religion is very simple.  Kindness is my religion.”  Dalai Lama

“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”  Matthew 7:12

“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”  Philippians 2:4

God Bless America

God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above

  1. If America could show this example to the wider world of KINDNESS. It would be such a trailblazer. It will have to start with us. Our personal examples. We must also learn a little Wisdom from on high and not let media Rule our thoughts and attitudes. Yes indeed Be KIND to each other. Thank you.

  2. Seems to be a real danger that the ‘United States of America’ will be reduced to a beautiful idea of a past era.

Polarisation of the populace is occurring as we speak and this will be a cultural war of ideals. The message you’re talking about must prevail in the hearts of the American people, otherwise ‘land of the free’ will be nothing but a bitter irony.

    1. You are correct. It would be a tragedy for us to lose sight of what our founding fathers risked everything for to bring our nation into being over 200 years ago. We are a young nation and I hope we survive. We survived the Civil War with a compassionate, insightful and moral man at the helm.

      1. The leader often sets the tone in a nation-state. Hard times like the civil war – strong leadership was needed to keep people’s hearts alive. Strong leadership is needed now too.

I honestly believe people are good natured on a basic level, but a complex of suffering can mean they are easily led toward bad deeds via confusion and anger. Those people need a strong, compassionate person at the helm, as you said, but at the moment, lacking that leadership, good people will need to unite in love and acceptance.

  3. I have to let my dark and twisty show here. After my last two weeks…..my new mottoes are:
“IF you share, share and share alike.”
“If you can’t say something BAD about somebody, don’t say anything at all.”
    “Shoot first….count later.”
    LOLOL
    Sorry…feeling snarky today.

Yes, we CAN do this! We will get through this TOGETHER! Always, together … Do not forget this! Do not let them convince you that we hate you! We love you ALL! 😉 ❤
Peace, love & togetherness for all the world,

  5. I love this post. I saw a “Make America Kind Again” sign at the Women’s March in DC and I think it is such a timely notion. Your post shows how so many different religious traditions all work toward the same goals of peace and love–I’ve been trying to show the same truths with my blog lately.
