Day 8

Mabel…the sweetest baby ever!           Photo Lori Greer

Tomorrow is a big day for Mabel.

She takes her first plane trip.

She’s off to Houston and MD Anderson with her Mom and Dad.

Fingers crossed for success for her Mom’s treatment.

They Also Serve…

It’s hard not to be there with them but I know they will be in good hands with other family and friends in Houston.  I will be busy supporting them in many other ways.

When I Consider How My Light is Spent

When I consider how my light is spent
Ere half my days in this dark world and wide,
And that one talent which is death to hide
Lodg’d with me useless, though my soul more bent
To serve therewith my Maker, and present
My true account, lest he returning chide;
“Doth God exact day-labour, light denied?”
I fondly ask. But Patience to prevent
That murmur, soon replies: “God doth not need
Either man’s work or his own gifts; who best
Bear his mild yoke, they serve him best. His state
Is kingly. Thousands at his bidding speed
And post o’er land and ocean without rest:
They also serve who only stand and wait.”

~~John Milton

I am on pins and needles until we have the verdict from MD Anderson.

A Special Hell

  1. Good morning Lori. I am remembering a wonderful little Irish nun whom I did some volunteer time with a few years ago.
Sister Sioban would always say, “you serve God by serving others”.

      1. Yes; every moment must feel both stretched and distorted, and every emotion played out on a seemingly endless loop. I so hope the Anderson consultation brings good news.
