Busy Days

My life seems to be whizzing past.  I ricochet from the gym, work, walking the dog, home, church, errands….

Throw in tax time.  I set February 15th as my deadline to turn in my taxes to my CPA.

Once again I am behind on my recordkeeping for tax purposes.  Once again I will vow never to let this happen again and will faithfully post my business and home accounts throughout the year.  Let’s hope I keep that vow!   Render Unto Caesar

A New Approach

Rather than letting a task take up an inordinate amount of time, I am setting deadlines for myself.

To wit:

I will finish this post by 10:45.

I will answer emails by 11:30.

I will watch the next video for my online class by 12:30.

So far, this little tweak to my daily routine is helping.

Take a Break

My work day consists of 45 minute work sessions (no distractions) with a 15 minute break at the end of each session.  I was tempted to give up my 15 minute breaks and power through yesterday.

I decided against missing my breaks and followed my plan.  I was glad that I did.  During those 15 minute breaks, I took the dog out; checked the mail, and started a load of laundry.  It was good to get up and move around.  Plus,  having these tasks out of the way made my evening nicer.

My first post ever (!) about how I organize my work day. Working from Home

How’s your day going?

    1. I feel as though my life is on hold until I can get my taxes done. Now, with our new tax laws, I have to plan differently for this year. How are you doing? I have been so remiss in my blogging, reading posts, etc. Take care, Lori

      1. I’m not writing a book at the moment (although I already have another idea for a novel) and it is amazing how much more time I have for other things. Writing is so all-consuming. I really do like your list ideas. I’ve used lists a lot and they work for me too. Tax prep awaits me (do you hear me groaning all the way to Portland?)
