An Optimist!

Italy has been on my shortlist of places to since my return from Europe in 2016.

Not in 2017, my daughter-in-law was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer a few months after giving birth to her first child.

Not in 2018, she was still fighting and I was caring for her and her baby.

Not in 2019, she was still fighting and I was caring for her and her toddler.

She died in late 2019.

A change of scenery

Early in 2020 I decided taking the trip would be a healing experience.

I would travel and deal with grief from a distance.

Then came the corona virus, unsettling and scary with no end in sight.

What now

I refuse to be beaten.

I am going to make tentative plans for late 2020 and see what works out.

I am going to live everyday with guarded optimism.

Afterall, life is often not what we planned.

    1. Yes, I hope so too. I would hate to also miss my annual pilgrimage to British Columbia. I am planning to spend more time in Vancouver on the return trip from Whistler. Stay safe! Hugs, Lori

  1. How true life is not what we may have planned. I thank God that although we don’t see it. (YET) He does have an ultimate HIGHER PLAN than anything we may have been pushing towards.
