Celebrate National Grilled Cheese Day!

According to some sources, April is National Grilled Cheese Month.  Others point to April 12 as National Grilled Cheese Day.

Either way, it is a good excuse to eat a delicious grilled cheese sandwich.

A favorite of mine since I was a little girl!

As a child, I loved eating a grilled cheese sandwich on a rainy day with a bowl of Campbell’s tomato soup.

Now I prefer my grilled cheese sandwich with a green salad and a piece of fruit. That’s because I have become picky about tomato soup.

I prefer homemade soup and, often, it seems like too much trouble to make it.  Plus, the cream and cognac, while delicious additions, add to the calories.

Some restaurants offer special deals on grilled cheese sandwiches. Any that you know of  in your town?

Happy National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day!

  1. An under-rated dish in my opinion, pity about the calories though 😉
Interesting pic – where i’m from we generally toast them under a grill or in a sandwich grill.
I think i’d like to try your home-made tomato soup!! 🙂
Happy NGCS day to you too.
