Thin Slices of Time

We must use time creatively, and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.

We must use time creatively, and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.

Quote by Martin Luther King, Jr. posted on the wall in the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library, Florence, Alabama.  This is a beautiful library.

I like that this quote from Dr. King is very succinct.  It packs a powerful message.

How will I use my time?  How will I be creative?  Will I do the right thing?

I am trying to be more mindful in my life and more attentive to the “thin slices of joy” all around me.

My life is a work in progress.

  1. Here’s to good progress in life, no matter one’s age! we should never stop learning and finding the joy in new things ( as well as the familiar ones!) 🙂
My current progress is in trying to obtain fresh perspectives, particularly with the limited frameworks we use in understanding life. Things that are so commonplace as to normally go unnoticed or thought of. Just because we are familiar with and use only one kind of ‘system’ whenever we do something does not mean that that is the only system people use or that it is even the best one for us personally. New areas of life and thought can open up when we challenge and ask ourselves why we think in a certain way or use a certain ‘standard framework’ to measure or compare with.
    love.
