“They say ignorance is bliss. I can vouch for that. My life was humming along just fine until I received that letter. Afterwards, nothing was the same.

“I flipped the envelope front to back looking for clues to its content. When I saw the return address, my mouth felt dry. It was too soon. My hands trembled as I unlocked the front door. On my way to the bedroom to get changed after my morning run, I tore open the envelope.
“As I read, I forgot to breathe….”

One Reader’s Comments
“I’ve been wanting to read a novel by WordPress blogger Anneli Purchase for some time now, and the other day I had a long car trip so I settled into my seat with a copy of Orion’s Gift, Anneli’s 2012 novel.
“Before I knew it we had arrived at our destination, and I didn’t want to put the book down. The story is part romance and part adventure, and I became caught up in the budding love story, as well as the dangerous escapades….” Orion’s Gift/Writer Site
A New Favorite Author
I find it gratifying to discover a new author.
As a history buff, I first read and reviewed Anneli Purchase’s novel Julia’s Violinist about WWII.
Purchase’s novels engage me in the stories, the human conflict and the development of the characters.
Her other novels waiting patiently on my Kindle are The Wind Weeps and The Reckoning Tide.
Learn more about this talented author at Anneli Purchase.
I found her books on Amazon.
It’s been a long day.
I am ready to sit down with a cup of tea and read another chapter of Orion’s Gift.
I hope you’ll join me!
Anneli’s books are great. My favorite is “Julia’s Violinist.”

I am too Lori. I’ve been on WP for many years with self-hosted and inside the dot com side of course. Nowhere on the internet have I seen the ‘family’ mentality so strong. Everyone here gets along so well from my perspective.

Thank you for your kind words, Lori (and other followers). I really appreciate them. It’s very gratifying for an author to have someone read her books after putting so much time and effort into writing them.

I have enjoyed several of Anneli’s novels. She has a wonderful way of fleshing out the characters and making me care about them. There are times I want to give them a “good talking to” and I think this is her intention.

Thanks, Dawn. I agree. There are times I just wanted to grab Sylvia by the shoulders and give her a good shake and a lecture.

Sylvia is exasperating but when I consider her loss of her Mother and her abusive husband I give her some leeway. Convincing character.

I know! Some readers have complained about what a ditz she can be, but I’ve known people just like her! They’re out there.

I have had the pleasure of reading all of Anneli Purchase’s novel. Every one of them have the “can’t put it down” quality. If you haven’t had a chance to discover this author, you simply must make the time. Lori, your comments absolutely and perfectly describe this author’s talent in weaving a wonderful tale in all her novels.

Thank you for info. Please look sometime at Amazon for my books. I too am a quiet author but God has inspired and continues to inspire. Mine are not thrillers and Orien’s sound terrific. But, I would be thrilled sometime if fellow bloggers checked out my books also available in Kindle. Australian in background but Christian Historical as well. I will check out what you have shared. Cheers! The Legacy of Limga is currently at the publishers. I am stunned. I could not believe in my lifetime I would complete this story.
