I love old, rustic shutters, doors and gates.
This photo is from a street in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
I took the shot in early January 2018 while walking around after a lazy lunch.
San Jose del Cabo is a charming old village near Cabo San Lucas in Baja, Mexico.
Seeing these old shutters invoked a sense of history and also peace in me as I strolled around the town.
This feeling was in sharp contrast to armed soldiers in jeeps who patrolled the streets to insure tourists’ safety in the light of recent drug-related murders.
Seeing it on my phone today reminded me of the lovely people of Mexico.
They were kind and helpful even in “touristy” areas.
A lovely memory.
