Peace at the last

It’s been a long, busy, emotional week.

It’s time for rest.

Support us, Lord, all the day long, until the shadows lengthen, and the evening comes, the busy world is hushed, the fever of life is over, and our work done; then Lord, in your mercy, give us safe lodging and peace at the last.  Amen  Book of Common Prayer (BCP)

Abba Father

My friend Anne once told me, “Sometimes all you want is a little peace and quiet in your life.”

I did not understand her words.  Now, thirty years later I know what she means.

Pundits, talking heads, experts are fine but they are not enough.

I am so tired.  I need more.

I need the comfort and strength of my faith.  I need my Abba Father.

  4. There is a deep longing for peace inside every human – of that I feel sure – except that so many of us do not know it. I only became aware of it when I had children. I loved my little boys intensely, but there were times I longed to be cut off from the world and all its things. I hope you find your peace and quiet as regularly as you need it, and without any pain ❤

  8. Abba Father is lovely Lori. I had not heard this before. Bible Study; The Lord’s Prayer. We have been encouraged to address God as Abba, it was strange at first.
