The Event

“Local businesses and individuals have come together in the spirit of community to present the first ever 1Table Florence. It will take place on November 16 on Mobile Plaza in Downtown Florence. What exactly is 1Table? It is the entire community coming together to share a meal at 1Table. Simple as that!

“Imagine the feeling of sitting down at a table that spans the length of Mobile Plaza to eat a meal of thanksgiving with your neighbors who share this sweet town we all call Home! What a day it will be! There is no agenda, no catch, and no cost to participate–just neighbors gathering together to celebrate our town in the spirit of the season. All are welcome!

“Our goal is 500 neighbors joining together to share a delicious Southern meal prepared by Jill’s Sweet Memories. The budget for 1Table is coming 100% from area businesses and individuals who recognize the importance of fostering a strong community.”

My Experience

It was lovely to see people of all ages and different walks of life come together for a meal and to support their community last Thursday. Locals had an advantage as this was “old home week” as many of them knew each other.

I attended with my daughter-in-law who knew many people. It was heartwarming to see the number of people who chatted with her and wished her well in her continuing struggle with cancer.

A wonderful event.

      1. That is wonderful!
        Have you ever seen the show Dr.Quinn, Medicine Woman, one of the old shows that isn’t on anymore.
        It reminded me of their community. Was so nice to see a REAL one, not one just on TV. 🙂
