Italy has been on my shortlist of places to since my return from Europe in 2016.
Not in 2017, my daughter-in-law was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer a few months after giving birth to her first child.
Not in 2018, she was still fighting and I was caring for her and her baby.
Not in 2019, she was still fighting and I was caring for her and her toddler.
She died in late 2019.
A change of scenery
Early in 2020 I decided taking the trip would be a healing experience.
I would travel and deal with grief from a distance.
Then came the corona virus, unsettling and scary with no end in sight.
What now
I refuse to be beaten.
I am going to make tentative plans for late 2020 and see what works out.
I am going to live everyday with guarded optimism.
Afterall, life is often not what we planned.
I do hope you get to visit Italy later this year.

Hopefully Lori it will be Italy’s summer months soon and the flu virus will be much more dormant, especially towards the end of their summer…is that July???

Hi Mark, I hope so too! I would love to see the sights and enjoy the food. More importantly, I would like to support their economy and show them some support.

Yes, I hope so too. I would hate to also miss my annual pilgrimage to British Columbia. I am planning to spend more time in Vancouver on the return trip from Whistler. Stay safe! Hugs, Lori

And our trip to Montana in the fall…. Who knows how these things will go with the borders closed … for how long no one knows.

How true life is not what we may have planned. I thank God that although we don’t see it. (YET) He does have an ultimate HIGHER PLAN than anything we may have been pushing towards.

Life is definitely out of our rule. We have a trip purchased in September to Oxford. We are hoping for the best but ready for the worst. 🙂
