I miss Julia.
Sometimes my need to know the “rest of the story” competes with not wanting to let the main character go by finishing a book.
I can be almost finished with a book but find that I have to force myself to read the final chapter.
This is the case with Julia, the main character in Julia’s Violinist.

My friend became very sick one night at home.
Her husband was out of town.
There was no one to drive her to the hospital.
So, she drove herself across town at 2:30 in the morning.
She was sick and alone for hours at the hospital.

This sign was in a restaurant in Whistler, B.C. which was expecting a large tour group for breakfast.
I was glad to dine just with my friend rather than in a herd. It’s all good!
Most days I have healthy breakfasts.
On some weekends, I splurge by enjoying a scrumptious breakfast with a mimosa. Or two.

What a week!
Nothing terrible is going on in my life. Just the usual.
I have felt like I am wading in deep mud.
Going through the motions.
I felt like I was pushing the river. Lots of effort. No return.
Just one more day and the week is over.

When I was a child the days were endless. Life seemed to stretch forever.
I could hardly wait to start high school, wear makeup, drive, be on my own.
Now decades later, time is flying past. The days are never long enough. The years whiz by.
Although I remember lots of things from my life, in general the past often feels like a blur.
It’s funny what we do remember.
