To be young, to be in love, and to be in Paris.
He once asked me, “When you were a little girl, did you ever think that you would be strolling down the Champs-Elysees?”
With a huge smile of wonder and amazement, I shook my head and answered, “Not really”.
Today, years later, I stroll the Champs-Elysees, alone with memories of the man who gave me Paris.
It is a beautiful day and I am happy to be here.

So honored to be nominated! Thank you!!

Honestly, the title for this post should be “Better Late Than Never!” I’m almost embarrassed at how long it’s taken me to do this. I was nominated months ago for the Liebster Award by three lovely bloggers. I’m grateful to each one of them for nominating me. They are: Anxiety in NYC, Curious Queendom, and Raw Honesty. Please visit their amazing blogs!

For Whom the Bell Tolls
“No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend’s or of thine own were:
any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind,
and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee.”

It is another rainy day in Portland but I am determined that the weather will not get me down. I am starting my day with a positive attitude. My problems and challenges are still sitting at the kitchen counter with me, but I am approaching them with a bit of a John Wayne swagger mixed with a “win the day” mentality.

Did your Mom ever scold you about leaving things to the last minute? Mine did, but the lesson never stuck.
I remember a childhood story about a boy who always waited until Sunday night to do his homework. Imagine the upset when his friends decided to go to the movies one Sunday night and he couldn’t join them because his homework assignments were waiting for him in his backpack.
That’s how I feel about my upcoming trip to France. Did I say France? Oui! Continue reading “Paris? Oui!”
