Hello Beautiful Day

I woke up at 4 A.M. this morning.

I debated if I should get up and start my day.

Afterall, I could accomplish a lot in the quiet of the morning.

Instead, I decided to read so I would fall back asleep.

Sleep a few more hours, I told myself, and then “Hit it full steam ahead!”

The son of Syrian immigrants, Governor Victor G Atiyeh, served from 1979 to 1987.

He was the first elected governor of Arab descent in the United States.

“After many years as a successful businessman, Victor Atiyeh also served 20 years in the Oregon Legislature and was elected Governor of Oregon from 1979 to 1987.  During his service he established trading ties with Asia, led Oregon through a severe recession and even cut his own salary to help balance the budget.”  Wikipedia

Let’s be fair….

We observe Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Irish-American Heritage Month, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Gay & Lesbian Pride Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Native American Heritage Month….I would bet that this is an incomplete list.

These are causes that speak to the heart of life in America and deserve our attention.

However, I must point out that we have another month-long cause that deserves our immediate and unconditional support.
