This brought a smile!
Takes my mind off other “shots” such as covid vaccines, boosters, flu shots…
My doctor expressed his frustration the other day with his patients who would not get their covid shots.
A local theatre requires proof of vaccination for entry.
So much controversy.
Maybe I will try a shot of whiskey after all!

I want to share these sweet little eggs.
I took this photo in a garden shop.
The eggs are fake. Still, they evoke a sense of tenderness and yearning in me.
I want to live in a little cottage in a beautiful place where life is peaceful.
With little nests, butterflies and fragrant flowers….
It’s been a hard week.
Actually, a hard year or so.
This pandemic drags on.
I am upset that my friends are losing their jobs, moving away.
And of course, there are the countless deaths.
Oregon hospitals are bringing in temporary morgues (KGW8 9/3/2021)
Idaho morgues are running out of space. (Washington Post 9/25/2021 issue)
I am weary.
“And like one lost in a thorny wood,
That rents the thorns and is rent with the thorns,
Seeking a way and straying from the way;
Not knowing how to find the open air,
But toiling desperately to find it out.”
~~Gloucester (Henry VI Part 3, Act III scene ii) Shakespeare
Thursday is the day I was born, eons ago in a galaxy far, far away.
Not really eons ago and not really in a galaxy far, far away.

“Ring the bells that still can ring,
Forget your perfect offering,
There’s a crack in everything,
That’s how the light gets in.”

It is cold and raining in Portland tonight.
The end of a long and sweet day.
I was not sure how the day would be. I just wanted to get through it.

I have asthma. Breathing can be a problem for me.
I don’t like wearing a mask. I miss hugging my friends and family.
Yet, I don’t want to get COVID 19 nor do I want to transmit COVID 19.
The decision is simple.
I am an adult. I wear a mask. I stay 6 feet away from others.
What’s so hard about that?

What is better than a lazy brunch? *
My special friend makes all my favorites from creamy scrambled eggs, crisp bacon to lox and bagels. There are healthy servings of roasted or grilled vegetables, fresh fruit and to top it off, a chocolate croissant sometimes served with ice cream! Needless to say, it is my main meal of the day.
Fresh flowers, a wonderful view and soft music playing.
Dining with my friend makes me slow down and count my blessings.
Even in the time COVID 19.
Especially in the time of COVID 19.
*Not having to prepare or clean up afterwards is the icing on the cake! (I do have food on my brain!)
