The Only Prayer

If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.   Meister Eckhart 1260-1328  Christian Theologian

The priest administered last rites today to my daughter-in-law.

She drifts in and out of consciousness in her bedroom.

My sweet granddaughter is at nursery school.

My son is home.

People are coming and going.

I feel breathless.

Soon it will be time for me to bring my granddaughter home.

She will be full of life with questions, opinions, songs.

I am so thankful  when this lovely child holds my hand walking home.

  1. Oh Lori. I am so sad to hear yet so happy you have your little granddaughter with you. I have been wanting to read and comment on your posts alas I have been living with my own husbands second cancer. Many surgeries and laryngectomie. Sending love and light

  2. My heart and prayers are with you from across the ocean. I KNOW that God will hold the hands of each one of you as you grieve through the weeks and months ahead. After every dark night there will be a dawn and my prayer is that you will see the light of a NEW DAY in the not too distant future. God is good but cancer indeed is one of the curses of our current age. It sux indeed! STRENGTH AND PEACE!
