My preconceived notion about Apaches is limited to American history classes and popular media where they were often referred to as savage warriors. This reputation spread to Europe with the result that in France, the word “apache” refers to an outlaw.
Finding an Apache blessing posted on a friend’s refrigerator offered a balance to my view of them as only a vicious people. Of course, if I were defending my family and my way of life, I would be warlike also! Continue reading “Apache Blessing”
