It seems as though a lifetime has passed since I started reading Orion’s Gift by Anneli Purchase.
Then, over a month ago, life was sweet and simple.
Now, adjusting to the new normal,* I am finding my way back to some of my pleasures such as reading.

I lay in bed for awhile enjoying the sound.
It was lovely, cool and dark.
A beautiful day dawns in Portland, Oregon.
Ginny and I went for a walk.

Tomorrow is a big day for Mabel.
She takes her first plane trip.
She’s off to Houston and MD Anderson with her Mom and Dad.
Fingers crossed for success for her Mom’s treatment.

The days drag on.
We are seeking a second opinion at MD Anderson.*
We are in shock in Portland over the murder of two men and the wounding of another man.
These were men who stood up to a man verbally assaulting two young women on public transit. *
